Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata)

What is Ylang Ylang?

Ylang Ylang is native to the Philippines and Indonesia and is valued for perfume purposes. The essential oil derived from the flowers is used in aromatherapy.  The essential oil of the flower is obtained through steam distillation of the flowers and separated into different grades (extra, 1, 2, or 3) according to when the distillates are obtained.

Antidepressant, antiseborrheic, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, hypotensive and sedative.


Relieve high blood pressure, heal skin problems, considered an aphrodisiac, relieves stress and anxiety, stregthens the nervous system, helps heal wounds, eliminates infections and keeps skin hydrated.

Bergamot, chamomile, clary sage, clove, eucalyptus lemon, ginger, grapefruit, jasmine, lemon, litsea cubeba, mandarin, neroli, opopanax, orange, palmarosa, patchouli, peru balsam, petitgrain, rose, rosewood, sandalwood, tuberose, and vetiver oils
