Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata)

What is Ylang Ylang?

Ylang Ylang is native to the Philippines and Indonesia and is valued for perfume purposes. The essential oil derived from the flowers is used in aromatherapy.  The essential oil of the flower is obtained through steam distillation of the flowers and separated into different grades (extra, 1, 2, or 3) according to when the distillates are obtained.

Strong, slightly fruity and sweet.

Antidepressant, antiseborrheic, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, hypotensive and sedative.
