What is Rose?

Rose oil is the essential oil extracted from the petals of various types of roses. Sourced from the Rosa damascena plant, it contains the flower’s aromatic compounds. Because those compounds are thought to possess healing properties, rose essential oil is used for a number of health-related purposes.Rose oil is extracted through steam distillation. It has been used in perfumery for generations in Persia, where the rose was  probably first cultivated.
