Meyer Lemon (Citrus × meyeri)

Meyer Lemon is a citrus fruit native to China thought to be a cross between a lemon and either a mandarin or orange. The lemon was introduced into the United States by Frank Nicholas Meyer who brought a sample of the plant from China and the plant was named in his honor “Meyer Lemon.” It became popular in the culinary industry at the end of the 1990’s and continues to be popular in this field today.

Meyer lemon essential oil is extracted by cold pressing the rind. It has been used in the perfume industry because of its wonderful, unique fragrance. For aromatherapy, it clears your mind – getting rid of any fogginess, refreshes you spiritually, and increases your energy level.
